Abbey Bike Tools are already among the best you can get. They’re precise, well thought out, and built to last. So how do you make an already great tool set even better? Custom engraving of course.

But not just custom engraving of the tool – but the limited edition walnut gift box as well. Clearly, Abbey Bike Tools isn’t the first super premium tool brand to offer wooden cases with custom engraving, but after getting enough requests from customers, Jason decided to make it happen.

Available in two different boxed sets, Combo #1 includes a Team Issue Crombie tool and Whip-It for $175. Combo #2 includes the same tools with the addition of the super premium, super awesome HAG derailleur alignment tool for a total of $380. Both kits include custom laser engraving of the box and the tools with up to 30 characters on each. If you’re planning on getting a set for your favorite mechanic (even if that’s yourself – we don’t judge), you’d better act quickly. Only 10 of each set will be offered making these super limited.

Nothing says quality like mill marks and tareout.

Such a weird product basically a 400 gift box only for professional bike mechanics. I mean what home gamer really needs that nice of a hanger alignment tool? Their cassette removal tool + Pedro’s Vice whip (which is better than their chain whip) =$95 really hope my wife is reading this.

who needs that nice of a hanger alignment tool? Anyone who likes flawless shifting.
I can tell you’ve never used the Abbey DAG, or else you wouldn’t question who needs it. It’s that nice.

Longtime pro and i own both the abbey and park hanger tools. The park tool works better for me : faster and more stable. The abbey telescopes and fits into my travel box, but for day in day out shop use the park dag is unbeatable.

Yikes! There is a major difference in quality from those two products. I threw my Park DAG out after using the Abbey HAG after a few months. Way more accurate, functions easy to get around chain stays and racks. I am very surprised to read this.

No doubt it’s a nice tool. I’ve got flawless shifting on all my bikes granted all of them have replaceable derailleur hangers. For those with custom ti/steel bikes how frequently are you really realigning your der. Hanger? Surely a great tool for a shop but c’mon that much for something you almost never use??

Many replaceable hangers need some alignment. The Park DAG at my old shop was so loose and floppy it wasn’t much use, but with a careful hand I made it work most of the time. The Abbey tool is way better option, but if I were buying it myself, but no way would I get the gift box and extra tools (I already have a chain whip and cassette tool).

@boom – This. I’ve used a lot of tools over 35 years of professional wrenching and the Abbey DAG is one of the best. But I’d skip the gift box because…it’s a tool and it belongs in a tool box.

you don’t ‘need’ this; need isn’t the point.

Go to any service course, Conti, pro Conti, trade or national team. The first thing I would do, is chuck that ridiculous box out. Get the cassette tool, and alignement too and move on.

Having a mis-aligned rear triangle on a custom steel or titanium bicycle is a sign of American craftsmanship. Why would I want a tool to fix it?

Ha! So true and so sad.

no self respecting mechanic would carry any tool in a wooden box… or buy thm as a kit. Get the Dag, a pedro vise and the abbey cassette tool. Get the hanger tool if you travel on planes all the time as a pro mech but really there are what… 30 of you in north america ?

if i saw abbey tools displayed in a bike shop i would turn around and leave. i don’t want to support that level of vanity when all other shops seem to get it done with still expensive Park tools.

For the price they charge they should have always included a wooden box. For those of you that are all about the DAG, Shimano makes one that telescopes for travel, has almost no play, includes what amounts to a ruler for the feeler portion (super nice), and is half the price. With the family racing CX I spend a lot of time straightening derailure hangers. We all have flawless shifting and I don’t need the Abby…
