Alex and Marc Marquez, the biggest names in Grand Prix, have partnered with Mondraker in preparation for their 2021 MotoGP Season. The brothers have each been given fully customized F-podium RR carbon cross-country bikes which they plan to use for cardio training. With a paint job and decals to match Marc’s MotoGP helmet and Repsol Honda Team motorbike, Mondraker may want to consider adding a new colorway to the line.
Marquez Brothers’ Mondraker F-Podium RR Bikes
Alex and Marc Marquez are known to dabble in a little cross-country mountain biking during their off-season, and can sometimes be seen riding the hills around their hometown of Cervera. BoxRepsol reported that Marc likes to ride XC to train for MotoGP, “especially races like Malaysia that really push you [physically] to the limit”.
When it debuted in 2019, the 100mm travel short-link XC bike was one of the slackest on the circuit with a head angle of 68°. In 2019 alone, it earned its place on five XC World Champs and World Cup podiums, ridden to success by Rebecca McConnell.
Though Marc Marquez has previously been seen aboard Specialized XC bikes, Alex has long been a fan of the Mondraker frames. This season he will train on his usual custom blue F-Podium RR with the addition of his racing number, 73.
Though Marc Marquez has not yet had chance to ride his new F-podium RR due to injury, brother Alex has several miles under his belt.
“I have felt the Mondraker F-Podium RR SL fantastic. It’s a very light bike and it feels very agile. I can also say that it’s fun and the absorption its’ a critical highlight. For sure it’s a bike and I will enjoy riding it” – Alex Marquez
