RaceFace just took the wraps off an all-new, light weight dropper post. It’s mechanically actuated, has only two travel positions, and is light enough to be considered on any XC build. If it sounds a lot like the Fox Transfer SL dropper, that’s because it is.
Thanks to RaceFace sharing the same ownership as the Fox suspension brand, RaceFace has been phasing out their old dropper post designs. The replacements are based on the excellent dropper posts from Fox, and in this case, the droppers are almost identical—except for the look, of course.
That means someone that wants a complete RaceFace cockpit can include the blacked-out Turbine SL dropper to finish the look. It’s also more likely that you’ll find one of these on complete bikes where the suspension package isn’t from Fox.
RaceFace does keep things simple though, as the Fox version will still be offered in more sizes and travel lengths. The Turbine SL will only be available in 75mm or 100mm travel options in both 30.9 and 31.6mm diameters. Claimed weights are 352/363g (30.9/31.6mm) for the 75mm travel version, and 357/368g for the 100mm travel post. Based on the numbers provided to us from Fox, that makes the Transfer SL about 10g lighter per size.
The Turbine SL is sold as the dropper post only for $329.99 and the lever is sold separately.
