Ass Savers Win Wing strap-on rear fender
This new strap-on minimalist Ass Savers Win Wing claims to be unique in offering “tangential coverage” by locating the simple rear fender exactly where spray flies off the rear wheel on the way to your butt. Unsurprisingly, putting the similar simple folded plastic Ass Savers fender right at the wheel means that road spray gets stopped at the source and you stay drier and cleaner.
The trick really comes in the way Ass Savers manages to mount it to your bike securely no matter what terrain you ride… and to make it fit a really wide array of different bikes.
Tech Details
The Ass Savers Win Wing attaches tool-free in seconds to the bike with a U-shaped injection-molded polyamide plastic fender stay bracket and a couple of creatively designed straps that secure it tightly around the seatstays of your bike, also provide a grippy base to keep it in place. They say this makes the fender more suitable for ‘performance use’, keeping the fender lightweight, resilient, and durable enough to handle rough terrain without rubbing at the first hint of an impact.
The bracket & straps weigh just 43-46g depending on model, and can fit around stays less than 1cm across or up to around 3cm in diameter. Total weight with the fender amounts to around 64-72g – “minimal material to provide maximum coverage“.
Then, the recycled plastic fender blade snaps onto the bracket, with three positions to adjust the fender angle to suit your bike +10°, 0°, or -10°. The goal is to keep the fender somewhat flat-ish and to have it REALLY close to your tire for the best protection. Ass Savers recommends just 5-10mm of clearance between the fender and your tire.
But don’t worry about mud or debris getting jammed inside, the design with stretchy rubber straps will flex out of the way if anything gets stuck between the tire & fender, plus it will never rattle.
There’s also a slot on one-side to secure a zip-tie around it, not to keep it from falling off, but as a mini anti-theft feature for when you leave your bike unattended.

Ass Savers’ all-new, made-in-Sweden Win Wing rear fender comes in two sizes Road or Gravel – both available for the same 25-27€ price in many different colors, all with a gray fender stays bracket.
The Road version is optimized for ~23-35m wide tires, and the Gravel version for 35-60mm tires – with the limitation really being the clearance of the bracket not the fender’s coverage.
