It looks like Astana’s Vittorio Brumotti has been hard at work getting prepped for a new road season. He’s been out on his rebranded Montante aka Argon 18 Gallium Pro riding every precarious skinny he could find, and even taking in some stairs for proper cross training. We were actually staying in the same hotel as Astana in Calpe, Spain just a couple of weeks ago to test out the next generation disc brake Di2 Dura-Ace with Shimano and rode on some of these same roads. We got them in rain and snow, so unfortunately missed out on witnessing Brumotti’s death-defying bridge crossings, which in at least some good sense require dry tarmac. (Is there a company out there willing to give this guy health insurance?) In any case, it looks like he is keeping the rest of the road racers entertained as they work on their winter base miles…
