bikerumor monday mystery pic

Today’s pics are from Piermont Bicycle Connection: “We had a customer drop these off for our Ebay for credit program. Neither the customer nor any of us know exactly what they are. Not the usual suspects from THM, AX or Ciamillo or others. Any help would be appreciated, and fun.” More photos after the break. If you think you know what this is, post your answer in the ‘comments’ section.

This could be a brake from the German Manufacturer Carbon Crew, around 2004-2005 I think!

“Not the usual suspects from THM, AX or Ciamillo or others.” – Ups, sorry. Not AXes.

I’m interested in the outcome of these brakes. They look a lot like AXes, but… I wonder if they are early versions of AXes. They are strongly based on a Campag brake

Yep, Carbon Crew. I think these were the very first carbon fiber brakes. I remember seeing these in a magazine somewhere and going nuts. Carbon Fiber Brakes! cool cool. Still interesting though

No doubt it is a campy part there, just not sure which one. A seatpost?

Without a doubt, these are late 60s vintage Campy guitar bridges. From the looks of the carbon, they are not Record level, however—maybe $45.
