bikerumor pic of the day stockholm sweden bike riding in the snow

Photo submitted by Anders Modin, “Last week, Stockholm was surprised by really heavy snowfall, and almost all traffic – buses, subway, taxis, cars – were knocked out for almost two days. As usual, the bike was the most reliable way of getting from A to B – on almost empty streets. So peaceful! I’m riding my Niner SIR9 with a Rohloff Speedhub 14.”

We always love seeing photos from where you are riding and are happy to share them with our readers around the world here on the Pic Of The Day. Send in your pics with a brief description here.

I agree – it might look like that, but the streets were like ice, hard packed… So the loose snow was as you see on the side of the street, with around 1 meter on every car. And when it’s cold, the snow gets dryer and don’t stick so easy – not on my MudKing 1.8.

My daily commute is 18 km’s – and I think of al lot when riding that way, but I never thought of faking though:)

very entertaining and unexcpected comments – i actually stepped off the bike, lifted the bike 20 cm aside to lean it towards the snowy cars, while taking the picture…

thanks for watching!)

You need to open the image in a new tab/window and view it in a larger format. The tires aren’t clean.
