Nepal is a beautiful place to mountain bike. I would encourage anyone to try it. But not right now.
I would caution anyone against going there at the moment unless they are an expert in relief work and working with an major organization (think Nepal Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, etc.) with the capacity to support their work – i.e. enough food and water for the aid worker plus additional food, water, and supplies for a large number of others. The last thing Nepal needs right now (and probably for many more months) is a flood of do-gooders putting strain on already scarce resources.
Also, namaste, and buy some medevac insurance before you leave.
