Despite the bad weather forecast, we were lucky enough that during the 42km or so of climbing from Bourg-d’Oisans, the sky progressively opened up a blue corridor [that was] fantastic and unforgettable (and 2degC). The scenery around us was ‘heaven and hell’ all day long. Next morning, the Col was closed due to heavy snow.”
