This is not haines point. It looks like the photo was taken in Georgetown. I also did that ride and it was indeed a great way to kick off the new year.

Haha, definitely Georgetown waterfront. I think Hains Point is visible wayyyyy in the background past the Watergate (yes, that Watergate) and the Kennedy Center. Roosevelt Island to the right.
