With more than 50 miles of interconnected trails and a thriving road biking scene, Greensboro, North Carolina, is one of the best under-the-radar cycling scenes in the Southeast. This comes as no surprise to us at BikeRumor, as it is the hometown of BikeRumor founder Tyler Benedict. Local (and BikeRumor contributor) Greg Lawrence has been biking here for nearly a decade.

“Riding in Greensboro is beautiful,” says Lawrence. “You have a little bit of everything — mountain biking and road biking, racers and chill folks.”

Whether he’s catching up with the Lindley Park Velo Club, stopping by Revolution Cycles, or starting his day with a quick ride and a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin from Spring Garden Bakery, Lawrence’s love for the local bike culture is unmistakable.

“Riding bikes is such a good way to play,” Lawrence says. “We kind of joke that we sound like kids when we’re hitting up our friends, saying, ‘Hey, wanna go ride bikes? Wanna hit the trails? Wanna play in the dirt?’”
