Cane Creek has released a new longer travel suspension seatpost, the 35mm travel eeSILK+. Available in alloy and carbon models, the new Cane Creek eeSILK+ offers an additional 15mm of elastomer-damped suspension over the original eeSILK post.

In other news, the brand has announced the addition of a bolt-on fender for HELM forks, the expansion of their Hellbender 70 BB lineup to incorporate a 24mm spindle option for Shimano cranksets, and the addition of the all-new Ancora expansion headset preload for carbon steerer tubes. Here’s more.

The alloy eeSILK+ retails at $219.99 USD while the lighter carbon eeSILK will set you back $319.99 USD.

Following recent updates to the 20mm eeSILK to improve durability, the brand has released the longer travel Cane Creek eeSILK+ suspension seatpost boasting 35mm of vibration damping suspension. The new eeSILK+, available in alloy and carbon models, take forward those same updates we saw earlier this year, including the upgrade to solid 300-series stainless steel axles over the old hollow aluminum one.

Like the eeSILK, the eeSILK+ is designed to add comfort and compliance on gravel and mixed-surface rides without adding
unnecessary weight to the bike. The extra 15mm of elastomer-damped suspension simply offers more comfort and compliance, in an attempt to further reduce the fatigue-inducing effects of vibration.

The support offered by the suspension seatpost can be tuned by swapping out the elastomers. Cane Creek offer five elastomers for the eeSILK+, running from extra soft through to extra firm. All models come pre-installed with elastomer #5 – the others are sold separately at $13 a pop.

Both alloy and carbon versions of the eeSILK+ are available in 27.2mm and 31.6mm diameters, each with a maximum rider weight limit of 250 lbs (113 kg). The alloy post runs stainless steel hardware and a 10mm stainless steel bolt for the front clamp, while the carbon one gets titanium hardware with a titanium thumb wheel. The latter is thus much lighter, weighing a claimed 333g in 31.6mm, versus the claimed 378g of the alloy version.
