Cannondale have taken a huck into the DJ World with the all-new Dave. This beefy aluminium frame with 26″ wheels are principally designed as a dirt jump bike but should serve you equally well at the local pump track, skate park, and on whatever bonus features you find down the street. Here’s everything you need to know about Cannondale Dave.
Cannondale Dave
The Cannondale Dave 26″ Dirt Jump Bike is available in one size only. Its C3 alloy frame sports a 68.5° head tube angle and a 75.6° effective seat tube angle parted by a reach measurement of 436mm. A 100mm travel Manitou Dirt Jump fork with a 41mm offset puts the wheelbase at 1079mm with the BB dropping 25mm.
Dirt Jump-specific highlights include the low slung frame, extra-long rear brake hose for bar-spins, plus integrated chain tensioners at the rear dropout.
The fork is a Manitou Circus Expert Air fork; the rebound damping is adjustable as is the preload. It slots into the head tube secured by a tapered integrated sealed bearing headset.
Dave gets 26″ double-walled aluminium rims seating 2.3″ Maxxis DTH tires. In the cockpit is a Cannondale 30mm rise alloy bar with 8° backsweep fitted with Fabric Funguy grips.
Typical of DJ Bikes, there is a rear brake only; it comes in the form of a Tektro cable-actuated disc brake with a 160mm rotor. The lever is designed for two finger braking.
The threaded BMX Euro Type bottom bracket is home to a cold-forged Cr-Mo crankset with 170mm arms. A single 13T Sunrace rear cog is driven by a KMC HL1 Wide chain.
