Canyon has a unique new tri bike, celebrating the return of Ironman Worlds to Kona with a special edition Humuhumunukunukuapua’a Canyon Speedmax CF SLX Hawaii LTD triathlon bike. Taking design inspiration from Hawaii’s state fish – the Reef Triggerfish – it gets decked out in flashy purple, yellow & blue stripes to stand out from the masses. And you can actually get one yourself now too…
Canyon Speedmax Hawaii LTD tri bike
This Speedmax CF SLX is the next evolution of the tri bike that Jan Frodeno rode to set the current Ironman course record in Kona back in 2019. But because COVID called off the 2020 race and the 2021 event was relocated to Utah in a delayed running this past May, this is the first chance back to ride the newer, lighter & faster disc brake evolution of the Speedmax at an Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.
The latest generation of Canyon’s triathlon race bike promises class-leading aerodynamics refined by SwissSide, lighter weight even in this more affordable CF SLX spec (vs. the CFR frameset), improved handling and disc brakes, and integrated storage for tools/spares, hydration & nutrition.
Full details on the bike are available here.
Limited Humuhumunukunukuapua’a edition
Only 100 bikes will be made available in this eye-catching Canyon Speedmax CF SLX Hawaii LTD limited edition. And they will sell direct from Canyon for 9000€ with a race-ready spec of Shimano Ultegra Di2 12-speed, a 4iiii power meter, deep DT Swiss ARC 1400 wheels 62mm front/ 80mm rear, and the options for Canyon’s flat or riser aero basebar, plus mono aerobar extensions.
Unfortunately, beyond showing up in Kona to race this weekend, the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a edition tri bike will NOT be available in the USA.
