Top tube bags are a great place to stash your snacks. Their front and center positioning makes it easy to nibble away without getting off your bike, or awkwardly trying to grab a single gummy bear, grape, or candy corn (when seasonally appropriate) from your back pockets. More storage means more calories, which is precisely where the name for the new Mag-Tank 2000 gets its inspiration.
Of course, the new Mag-Tank 2000 will fit a lot more than just food. Thanks to a 50% larger capacity compared to the Mag-Tank, the 2000 will carry items big and small while keeping them close at hand.
Like the original Mag-Tank, the 2000 uses a wedge shape with a zipper-free magnetic opening flap. That makes it not quite as secure or water tight as the competition, but way easier to access while you’re riding – which can be extremely important while riding rough terrain. Constructed from an exclusive RevVX 21, 42 Xpac, and 420 denier yellow and red lining, the pack uses HDPE plastic to stiffen the side panels along with EVA closed cell foam and additional piping around the front opening. A single large top tube strap and cam lock front strap help it to stay put.
Weighing in at 5.2oz with 85 cubic inches of storage, the bag measures 8.5″ x 4.5″ x 4.5″ tapering to 1.5″. Made in the USA, the bag is available in black or blue for $65 each.
Along with the launch of the new MAg-Tank 2000, Revelate is also celebrating their 10 year anniversary. To celebrate, they’re giving away a bikepacking kit to a lucky winner who shares a bikepacking related story on Instagram with the tag #historyofbikepacking after liking @revelatedesigns. You have until 11/16/18 to enter.
