CeramicSpeed debuts ten new ceramic T47 bottom brackets, promising the lowest friction possible in a BB, longer bearing life, and better drivetrain efficiency. T47 already claims to offer the improved performance of larger PressFit bottom bracket bearings together with the trusted threaded BB interface, and now CeramicSpeed offers two more levels of premium upgrades, with either their standard or coated races.
CeramicSpeed T47 ceramic bearing bottom brackets
By now we’ve all heard of the marginal gains & free [sic] watts of ceramic bearings. (That image is apparently a CeramicSpeed BB that just survived the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships.) So, as more companies adopt the oversized T47 threaded bottom bracket standard, it’s no surprise to see CeramicSpeed serve up some T47 ceramic options.
The CeramicSpeed T47 BBs all include their premium CeramicSpeed balls and hardened-steel races, set in side threaded alloy cups with a spacer tube in between. Versions are available for Campagnolo Ultra-Torque, Shimano, SRAM GXP & DUB, as well as other 30mm spindle cranks. There also special versions for 68 or 86mm wide frames depending on the crank.
All variants retail for 289€ with ceramic balls and steel races. Or for 389€ get CeramicSpeed’s premium coated versions with ceramic balls and the harder & smoother metallic layer coated steel races. All versions are available now direct from CeramicSpeed, including a syringe of their All Round grease and the installation tool for the BB cups.
