Christmas on Wheels, 100+ Bicycles Given Away

Above is Cannondale employee, Matt Timmerman, refurbishing a bike as part of the Wheels for Kids program conducted by Danbury Youth Services in Danbury, CT. More than 100 bikes were refurbished by Cannondale employees and volunteers from organizations such as Danbury Youth Services, Cycling Sports Group, and local scout troops. The bikes were distributed to children today at the annual Santa’s Workshop event in Danbury. Santa Clause arrived at noon on a Danbury fire truck with screaming sirens and flashing lights.

“All our clothes were just laden with icicles,” said Tom Tomassen, program director of Danbury Youth Services, “But to work on these bikes and to see them hauled away, pickup truck after pickup truck full of them, it was just an amazing site.
