Chromag Nice Dreams fat bike (2)

Based on the fact that their warehouse and office is hidden within Whistler’s Function Junction, it’s safe to assume that Chromag is a North Shore brand through and through. Because of that, you might not expect to see a fat bike from Chromag, but that’s exactly what we have with the Nice Dreams. Looking at the bike though, it’s clear that this is a fat bike with plenty of influence from the shore.

What started as a prototype frame after getting their hands on an early sample of a RockShox Bluto suspension fork, eventually turned into the production bike you see here. After enough desire was expressed both within the company and from potential customers, the first 10 Nice Dreams frames were made…

One of the few fat bike frames currently based on the 120mm travel Bluto, the frame will also be optimized for Chromag’s upcoming Tomahawk rigid fork. Why a fat bike from a company based in Whistler? According to Chromag, the ability to ride trails in all of their varying weather conditions was one of their bigger motivations. After testing the bike through the full Whistler Spring and Summer, Chromag has given Nice Dreams their stamp of approval.

S’funny, I grew up riding on the North Shore. Whistler didn’t seem that close at a 120km.

Want! Now how to decide between the Chromag Surface and this?

If you’re trying to decide between a long-travel 29er hardtail and a fatbike, you’re doing it wrong.

Whistler is not the North Shore (through and through) and the North Shore is not Whistler. As accurate as saying Brooklyn is Manhattan.

That looks fun!

the question we’ll all want to know: does it fit 29+?

Macaroom-it’s true that Whistler is not “the shore” but you’ve gotta give ‘mericans a break. You can still find articles with Vancouver, Canada as a reference address.
phella-29+ will just fit the back. it does not ft the Bluto. The 29+ will get it’s own frame.
wheel-addict- buying two frames gets you free shipping.
trash-Whistler.
Ryan-Just in case.

Oh dear…

So many nice bieks I would like to have. Not enough space to keep them, not enough time to ride them, not enough organs to sell them to got them all xD

Cheers!
I.

I would expect better from chromag. This geometry is nothing remotely new or special, it’s outdated.

Adam – Please point to a fat bike with similar geo designed around a 120mm fork.

Sean D – bike looks awesome but please tell me the BB will be threaded and not press-fit…?

And is the $1550 MSRP in American $ or Canadien $?

adam – the geo may not be new to all mountain hardtails, but is new to Fat bike.
Outdated? no
special? – yes! works so good.

Adam,

I’m pretty happy with how this bike rides but still quite curious to hear all the details on your version of up to date geometry. Please share.
