Chumba Racing have been steadily building a following in the UK with great reviews from their XCL and VF2 frames and a fantastic service from the UK importer, Progressive Bikes, to back them up. For some time they have been offering what they call a ‘rolling chassis kit’ on their XCL frame in the UK and, following on from the popularity of this, they are now offering a similar deal on their VF2 frame. Click more for some more information and more pretty pictures!
The Chumba VF2 is a 5†trail bike, boasting one of the stiffest frames in its class and is tough enough for a multitude of disciplines but still pretty light at 6.5lb with an RP23. You can buy the frame only for £1599 or you can choose the excellent value rolling chassis kit, which includes a Fox Float QR15 2010 FIT fork, Hope hoops with choice of rims, Thomson X4 stem, Thomson Elite post, Chumba lock on grips and Chumba saddle. The kit represents excellent value for money at £1950, saving over £600 from RRP! Included with each frame is a spare mech hanger, which I think highlights Progressive Bike’s great attention to detail.
As standard the VF2 frame comes with a Fox RP23 rear shock but for £399 this can be upgraded to the excellent Cane Creek Double Barrel. I doubt that many mountain bikers can look at the photos below without feeling a bit of longing!
