CloseTheGap have updated their bell-integrated computer mounts with a louder brass bell hammer, increasing the volume by 10dB, up to 95dB. The HideMyBell Regular2 out-front computer mount and Insider2 mount discretely integrate a bell into their design, adding a safety element without significantly impacting on the aesthetic of your cockpit. The clever, compact design means you won’t even have to take your eye off the road to find the trigger, making it safer to use than the touchscreen buttons on the computer itself.

The major update to the HideMyBell cycling computer mounts is the inclusion of a robust steel spring trigger with a brass bell hammer, resulting in a bicycle bell that is more audible and therefore more effective at alerting other trail users to your presence.

In addition to the louder bell, the HideMyBell Regular2 mount now features the same two-piece handlebar clamp design seen on the RaceDay SL computer mount designed for the Jumbo-Visma team. Unlike the one made for the Pros, this clamp is made from glass fibre reinjected polymer, bringing the (claimed) weight of this out-front computer mount to 47g.

This tiny piece of kit offers a lot of functionality per gram. Beyond the bell and computer-mount function, you also have the option to mount a GoPro or light to the assembly via the 25mm round accessory mount located behind the bell.

Though, you do of course have to remove the bell for this, and It requires the use of adapters (sold separately), which allow you to hang the camera or light beneath the bell.

The Regular2 out-front computer mount positions the computer in a lowered position out front, with a maximum stack height of 40mm (measured with a Garmin 1030). CloseTheGap say it results in no increase in frontal area with respect to the stem faceplate that sits directly behind it. The clamp itself takes up 12mm on your bar and is available in 31.8mm only.

The more compact but slightly heavier HideMyBell Insider2 computer mount gets the same, louder bell upgrade as the Regular2. The ergonomic design positions the trigger very close to the bar so drop-bar riders will be able to reach it effortlessly from the tops without having to glance down.

Mountain bikers and drop-bar riders alike can make use of this one as it is available in both 31.8mm and 35mm clamp options. Also, its compact design makes it less likely to get damaged in a crash. The bell itself tucks in snuggly behind the stem. Its low-profile design means it doesn’t occupy any more space than is absolutely necessary.

This one weighs a claimed 52g. It is less versatile than the Regular2 out-front mount, lacking the additional accessory mount. So, if you want to run a front light or a GoPro off your computer mount, the Regular2 is the one for you.

Looks neat. Except that philips screw. I thought they were all gone?

Nice and neat, shame about that completely useless – for me at least – computer mount.
Even more minimalist version without it anyone?
Cheers!

As a generally reckless FG rider, I love bells. Just a little friendly “ding ding, watch out slower, less mass pedestrians, I am coming through.” So now in the rare instance I drive a car, I take that thoughtful act with me and tap tap my horn every time I’m near a cyclist.

Why do I need a computer? I want a good bell!

I have to older model and loved it. Is the GoPro mount still plastic? I hope not, I had issues with it breaking. .

Looks like a major improvement. I had the old plastic ringer break off from two of my Hidemybells. If they also tackled the issue of standing water in the bell for rainy rides I’m updating the stable.
