Summer is here, and with the change of seasons comes new releases from clothing manufacturers eager to render the stuff you bought last year obsolete with fresh designs and technical improvements. In this roundup Search and State gets wildly colorful with a new jersey, Mission Workshop announces a simple but technical sweatshirt and we highlight some key pieces from Dare 2B’s summer cycling collection.

Mission Workshop
The Softshell Faroe pullover from California’s Mission Workshop is made from Schoeller Dryskin fabric with Nanosphere water repellency treatment. The hooded sweatshirt is designed to be durable and long lasting yet lightweight at approx. 220g. The nylon fabric offers 4-way stretch, and breathes to transfer perspiration outwards while keeping you protected from the elements.
The Faroe features a zippered rear pocket and semi-fitted hood, and is made in San Francisco. It comes in Slate grey, and sizes S-XL are available. The Softshell Faroe pullover costs $195 USD.
Search and State
New York’s garment makers Search and State are excited to announce the release of their new limited edition S1-Aloha men’s jersey. The Aloha jersey is a lot more colorful than the brand’s usual muted palette, in fact it’s their first ever printed jersey. It might not be the last, as they say the Aloha has been their most anticipated product release yet.
The jersey shares it’s luxurious fabric and slightly relaxed cut with Search and State’s popular S1-A model, and features the same three pocket layout on the back. The Aloha jersey is designed, manufactured and printed in the USA on domestically sourced fabric. It sells for $155 USD, and comes in sizes XS-XL.
Dare 2B
The mens Mettle jersey is made with Dare 2B’s BODY technical fabric which wicks moisture away, dries quickly and provides plenty of stretch for a comfortable fit. The fabric is also treated with an antibacterial odour controlling agent. The Mettle jersey features a full front zipper with an autolock slider and inner zip guard, scooped cut rear hem, and three rear pockets including one with a zipper. It also has a shaped collar and gel grippers at the center back hem. The Mettle’s normal price is $93 USD, but the jersey is currently on sale for $70. It comes in black only, and sizes XS-XXL are available.
Also for men, the Enshroud Windshell’s zip-off sleeves make it a versatile two-in-one jacket and vest designed to protect you from wind and light rain showers. The Enshroud is constructed from ultra-light ILUS fabric, and a size medium weighs just 250g. The jacket features mesh panels in the back for airflow, reflective detailing, a scooped cut rear hem, one zippered rear pocket, and its articulated sleeves are held in place by elastic cuffs with attached thumb loops. The Enshroud windshell costs $77, and comes in fiery red or sky diver blue with white sides and black sleeves, or solid colors in black or neon green. Sizes S-XXL are available.
The Saddle Sure Cycle Shorts are available for men and women, and can be worn on their own or under baggy shorts for that ‘not a diehard pro’ look. The shorts are made from a comfortable, lightweight and fast drying blend of 82% polyamide and 18% elastane, and feature an elasticized waist with a drawstring to ensure a snug fit. The shorts use Dare 2B’s 2-D molded stretch chamois pad, and employ a six panel design with flat lock seams for comfort. Other nice touches include reflective detailing, and gel grippers at the hem. Both the mens and womens models come in black only, and cost $46. The shorts come in women’s sizes 10, 12, 14 and 18 and men’s sizes from S-XL.
