Completely Solar Powered Bicycle; Functional, but Not Pretty

While the E-bike craze is in full swing, it was only a matter of time until someone took it a step further and added solar panels. Meet THEKPV, otherwise known as The Hybrid Electric Kinetic Photovoltaic Vehicle. The name fits well with the “busy” design, featuring five solar panels covering the front of the bike which designer Terry Hope says makes a 50w solar array. How much do you think this thing weighs? THEKPV doesn’t have any pedals, so electrical energy is the only thing that can make this 44-pound beast move. In addition to the solar panels, the 396Wh battery pack can also be charged by an electrical outlet, and THEKPV  harvests kinetic energy from movement as well as braking,

Of course it’s not a bike- it’s a scooter. Would much rather see solar powered docking stations for regular e-bikes.

Yeah thats a scooter. drop another 10-20 lbs and Id buy it !
