Chronicle in the US and Thames & Hudson in the UK have published Cyclepedia, by Michael Embacher, with a foreword by designer and cycle nut Paul Smith.

The book explores the amazing Embacher collection of bicycles, an unrivalled collection of bicycles of all kinds collected by the author (an architect and designer) that showcases 90 years of bicycle design through some iconic bikes and rarities.

Previously, some of the content was published in the expensive and limited edition Smart Move, but now it is available in a commercial edition.

The BBC has made a lovely little slideshow, to whet your appetites (images in this post taken from it). Click below to see another pic, and also the invite to the London UK launch, which happens tomorrow (16 March) at Look Mum No Hands, the bicycle cafe.

If you don’t happen to pick up a book at the launch, it’s available from all the usual sources – but we at BikeRumor recommend you support your local independent book store, as you would your local bike shop.
