Hincapie Sports Single Piece Custom Cycling Kit
Hincapie Sports now offering single piece custom cycling kit.

I’m a big fan of Premier League, particularly Newcastle United FC, so the opportunity to craft a full kit including a jersey, shorts, and accessories to show it is very appealing. Well, Hincapie Sports is now offering the option to design custom jerseys, bibshorts, shorts, and matching accessories for those riders among us who want to ride not just in style, but their own style. The kit includes the following:

  • Velocity Short Sleeve Jersey
  • Velocity Bibshort or Short
  • Element Arm Warmers
  • Element Knee Warmers
  • Velocity Plus Race Gloves

You get all that for $500. Yeah, it’s a bit much for a single kit, but it’ll be one of a kind and it’s far less than ordering a whole teams’ worth just get some unique threads for your team of one.

My only interest being the obvious intellectual one, it’s worth mentioning that Champion System also does individual kits. I’m surprised custom-for-one isn’t a bigger deal.

Pretty sure this isn’t exclusive to Hincappie. All custom mfg will make you a one off for $500.

Looks like the commenters above would rather support an overseas manufacturer rather than n American doper. To each his own I guess. After using Champ-Sys for 7 years, I made the switch to Voler. CS graphics people barely speak English, so doing design edits was a nightmare. When I tried getting help from my sales rep, service was terrible. One time we got a medium jersey with one large sleeve sewed on. And another time we got a skinsuit that was totally baggy. And they would not replace the skinsuit! No issues at all with Voler and U.S. manufacturer to boot!

Actually, Hincapie Sports also is an overseas manufacturer. Per its web site, its manufacturing facility is in Medellin, Colombia, the native country of George Hincapie’s father. It’s a family business so one is not supporting just the ex-doper. I’d buy from them if there was a need and they did a better job than their competitors. Voler, however, is fantastic, so I’d go to them first.

Sounds like a feature to me. Why would you be complaining about that?

Funkier will provide you far better quality for your custom kits. Ride-worthy pads, great-feeling jerseys and shorts/bibs…plus a waterproof zippered back pocket on all jerseys to keep that smartphone and other items dry at no extra charge.
