Taking the gorgeous lines of their Podium road bike to the next level, Diamondback’s new Serios triathlon bike looks downright mean, particularly in matte black with muted logos. All they’re saying about it is an official launch date of October 7th, but a few screen caps after the break reveal a few details…
Seriously badass looks. Where many bikes use an airfoil in front of the headtube that connects the stem and fork, this one simply extends the headtube well in front of the steering column. Click to enlarge and you’ll notice where the steerer tube enters the frame from the fork and where the stem clamps it…a good couple inches behind the nose.
The fork crown flares slightly behind the brakes and carries that shape into the frame, likely to reduce turbulence behind the calipers.
As for the rear end, there are few interesting curves, but a cursory glance suggests they’re simply bending and shaping things to let the air slip by as gently as possible. We’ve reached out to Diamondback, but most likely the nitty gritty of the design will have to wait until the official unveil.
