DirtySixer is updating their 36″ wheel AllRoad commuter bike for extra tall people through to extra, extra, extra, extra, extra tall people. Now Mark II, the 36er will shortly be available in sizes XL-5XL with a whopping pre-order discount of $2000 USD. Past customers of the DirtySixer AllRoad include LeBron James, Mark Eaton, Kevin Durant, and Shaquille O’Neal, spotted riding his DirtySixer AllRoad with Wanda Sykes in tow in an American Express Commercial.
“I have got a lot of things done custom for me in my career, but nothing quite like that. I feel like a kid again! I’d like to order another one like that for my other house” – Shaquille O’Neal, 7′ 1″.
DirtySixer AllRoad MK2
Details of the DirtySixer AllRoad Mark II are thin on the ground. What we do know is that this 36″ wheel bicycle will be available in sizes XL-5XL accomodating riders from 5’8″ up to 7′ 6″ and beyond. The new bike is due to have an RRP of $4,999 USD but will be available to pre-order over the coming weeks for just $3,000 USD.
The DirtySixer AllRoad Mark II will comprise a 6061 aluminium frame paired with a chromoly steel rigid fork. The new model gets lighter tubeless-ready 36″ rims, 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 203mm rotors front and rear, as well as custom-designed extra large pedals, grips, and custom 2-piece cranks (up to 200mm long on the 5XL). Aside from the lower standover, geometry remains unchanged.
36er bikes aren’t new, of course. David Folch (6’6″), the owner of DirtySixer, has been building 36″ wheel bikes for many years. A crash while riding a bike that was too small for him prompted his creation of the DirtySixer brand. David also builds a 32er for folk who are too tall for a bike with regular 29″ wheels, but too short to ride the 36er, though these haven’t made it to production yet.
