Canyon just launched their newest bike, the Lux Trail ‘downcountry’ rig. With four different models to choose from, it’s the top end model that really stands out—though not just for the usual reasons. In an interesting twist, Canyon has devoted their top model as the EB-Edition. That EB of course stands for women’s MTB star, Emily Batty.
Why is this a big deal? I’m struggling to think of a recent mountain bike launch where the top end model was the signature edition from a female racer. This isn’t just some pink-it-and-shrink it “women’s” bike. This is a true, top-level build kit with an eye catching paint job that will likely appeal to everyone—not just women.
In terms of geometry, this is exactly the same as the other Lux Trail models in the lineup.
What sets the EB-Edition apart other than the paint? The bike is built with a Shimano XTR 1×12 drivetrain and a Race Face NExt SL G5 Carbon crank. This build gets a Fox 34 StepCast fork with a DPS Factory rear shock, both remote lockout equipped. DT Swiss XRC 1200 Spline wheels are wrapped in Schwalbe tires with a 29 x 2.4″ Wicked Will up front and a 2.35″ Racing Ralph out back.
And thanks to the consumer direct nature of Canyon’s business, you get this incredible build for a pretty reasonable $6,999—if you can find on in stock, of course.
