When Drew Guldalian of Engin Cycles says he’s been busy in the shop with projects for the last year, you know it’s going to be good.
A new, smaller 31.8 Seat Collar joins their 34.9mm size and should make many roadies, gravel cyclists, and 27.2mm seatpost lovers very happy.
The meticulous in-house machining promises a tight fit at low torque values, perfect for featherweight carbon fiber road bike frames and posts, or your enduro mountain bike with a finicky dropper post. The 31.8 Seat Collars come in four different anodized colors, your choice of titanium (17g, $52.00) or steel (18g, $45.00) bolts.
Engin 35mm stems add steel bolt option
For folks who love Engin’s 35mm MTB stem, but didn’t have the cash to dish out (or care about saving a couple grams) will be pleased to hear you can get them in all the same colors, but now with steel hardware. That’ll save you $30, bringing the price down to $150 while only adding 7-8g.
New framebuilding tools coming…
And lastly, for Engin’s tease project that will be unfolding on their social channels soon, they are developing a “game-changing” frame jig for all the bike builders out there. While they’re not giving up the details yet, they say it will “offer features and degrees of precision previously unattainable.”
