On July 1, Italy’s Extreme Racing Shox announced it’s coming to America. The brand introduced its handmade suspension products to the U.S. by opening an EXT USA distribution arm in Salt Lake City that will handle sales and service.
“There’s no question that EXT’s mountain bike products, notably the Storia V3 shock and Era fork, have shaken up the suspension market,” said Cody Priano, CEO of EXT USA. “We’re excited to bring this technology to a new group of riders that have been waiting for it.”
The wait is over. Here’s what that means for stateside riders.
EXT Builds its Reputation with Innovation
As indicated by the quote above, Priano knows what he has. EXT’s Storia V3 shock is well known for its dynamic damper and hydraulic bottom-out technology. Head Technician Stewart Greer notes that the bottom-out tech separates the Storia V3 from the field. It’s “the feature that jumps out quickly to most people,” he says.
EXT recently added a Storia V3 variant for eMTB, succinctly designated the e-Storia.
Elsewhere in the EXT lineup, the Era fork uses an air/coil hybrid spring system and an adjustable damper shaft. Riders can externally adjust the damper to high-speed compression, low-speed compression, and rebound settings.
Custom(er) Service, EXT Style
Notably, EXT’s Salt Lake expansion also gives U.S. riders access to its customer support and individualized tuning process. The brand goes out of its way to give users access to its expertise by offering in-depth, hands-on service.
“You get a team of suspension experts at your disposal to not only get you the perfect product, but get it perfectly set up for you,” Greer said.
EXT will still make each part by hand at its Italian manufacturing location.
