Short, stable, supportive. For the newest Fabric saddle, the ‘S’ has many meanings. But overall, the Fabric Line-S is all about speed out on the open road. Something that may be helped by the new short nose design.
Short nose road saddles are quickly gaining in popularity thanks to the newest generation that doesn’t look nearly as out of place on top of your seat post. The reduction in nose length decreases the chance of any rubbing on your thighs, and allows for a more aggressive position without as much pressure on your soft tissue regions. While shorter saddles aren’t for everyone, they certainly have their place among modern designs.
Fabric’s Line-S is called a performance unisex model with a short 236mm length, and wide rear that has a slight upward slope. The flexible nylon base is paired with a pressure relief channel for additional comfort, and super light foam help keeps the weight down. Every saddle is available in two overall widths – 142 and 155mm. You’ll also have the choice of the Team edition with the Fabric logo embossed over the full length of the saddle, or the Black edition without any visible logos
At the top of the heap is the Line-S Pro Flat which is the lightest option thanks to the use of 9x7mm carbon rails. In 142mm the saddle weighs in at a claimed 182g, and 188g for the 155mm version. The Pro Flat will set you back $180.
Next, the Line-S Race Flat ditches the carbon rails in favor of 7mm round titanium rails, but otherwise the build is the same. That nets a 230/234g weight and a $100 price tag.
The entry point is the Line-S Elite Flat saddle which runs Cro-mo rails which add a touch of weight at 234g/240g. But it also drops the price to $80 each.
All of the saddles are available now.
