ORp smart horn fathers day

Perhaps your dad is still killing it on the bike. Maybe you’re looking for ideas to pass on to your family for yourself (hint hint). Whatever the situation, if there is a father in your life that is into bikes there are a number of cycling related promotions that should leave him happy.

Always one to have fun with their promotions, ORP is putting an ORPstache on their smarthorn for Father’s Day. The combination dual decibel horn and multi-mode beacon light is available in fun colors that you can dress up with one of the entertaining ORPstache stickers. As an added bonus for Father’s Day, ORP is including the new Remorp remote control with every ORP purchase through their ORPland webstore.

The Dad Bod isn’t for everyone, so if your favorite father wants to start riding around town to get back in shape, a bike is a good place to start. The aptly named Papa from Pure Fix Cycles runs just $329, and is available in 7 sizes all with an eye catching matte grey frame with orange deep dish wheels.

We all know dads love to grill, but sometimes that can be difficult when they’re on the road transporting their kids, spouses, etc. to cycling events across the country. The BioLite BaseCamp not only provides a portable grilling machine that is powered by biomass like wood with an internal fan to improve combustion, but it also includes an on-demand power source for charging your devices. Converting the heat from the fire into usable electricity through a thermoelectric generator, the BaseCamp offers 5 watts that can charge phones, GPS units, even tablets.  A strong fire is said to provide 30 minutes of charging time.

Equipped with a dashboard indicator for cooking temperature and charging, the BaseCamp stores power for later with an integrated Li-Ion battery and also includes a flexible USB LED light to see what you’re doing. The foldable legs allow you to modify the cooking height from 15 to 23″, and the stove weighs in at 20 lbs with a 13.25″ diameter grilling surface.  Get dad the ultimate portable grill for $299.

clug wheel holder

If your patriarch is always on your case about cleaning up the house, help reduce bicycle clutter by hanging your bikes where they are out of the way. Clug is a simple, minimal clip that attaches to the wall and allows you to store your bicycle vertically or hold it upright on two wheels. Available in the roadie, hybrid, and mtb models, Clugs are offered in a few different colors and sell for $25 a piece. However, for Father’s Day Clug is offering 20% off with the code BIKERDAD until June 21st.

Based on a few of the cycling dads I know, no Father’s Day gift guide would be complete without a few drinking accessories courtesy of King Cage. Between the Oliver cage to hold a Stanley flask ($22)and the Mud Flask which includes a mounting plate for your saddle rails ($35) you should have plenty of carrying capacity for your favorite beverage once you get to, uh, camp. Top it off with the Barbell ($40) which includes a titanium shot glass that doubles as a bell.

Wow, that ORP logo really looks like the logo for QBP (Quality Bike Products).

Do they know about this in Bloomington, MN?

Same font, yes very similar.

But hardly enough to prop up a trademark infringement case.

QBP would look like a bully for pursuing anyway. Bad publicity.

Except for the stuff on the very bottom the rest look like an April fools
Joke. Check the clug out. That doesn’t look like something that could actually keep a bike secured.

A $5 mustache sticker for your bike light.
Even if the mustache trend wasn’t overdone and old news, that’s silly. Does it come with a “Keep Calm and…” tee too?

Hook my Dad up with that fixed gear and a flask full of scotch. What could go
wrong.

The fonts aren’t even close, they don’t look similar at all side by side other than the fact they are 3 letters each that end in P.

DCRainmaker is using a few of the Clugs to hold his bikes, so they do work.

I ordered an ORP back when they were crowd funding. It worked for maybe three rides. Hasn’t worked since which is a huge bummer because it was awesome.

I’ve been using an ORP w/ the remote for about 3 months and it’s been solid, even after a few rides in the rain. Just wish it were louder.
