After a strong launch in 2017, Ketl Mountain Apparel is bulking up their line by lightening up for spring and summer. Looking to add some pieces for hotter climates than the original line, there are lighter shorts, sun protection jerseys, and liner shorts. But on the other side there are also new pieces for areas that aren’t quite so warm yet, but full winter gear just won’t do.
Pieces like the new Merino Jersey. Offered in both men’s and women’s (women’s is in the title image), the jerseys use a double face fabric for a ridiculously luxe feel. But more than feel, the merino wool inner layer helps with warmth while the polyester outer layer pulls moisture away from your body.
While men get a zippered chest pocket, the women’s pocket gets relocated to the back side of the jersey. Both men’s and women’s will sell for $90 in muted desert inspired color palette.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the long sleeve UPF 50 jersey is meant for hot weather with a really light weight but sun blocking build. Offered in light colors for obvious reasons, the jerseys will sell for $85.
Ketl nailed it with their bib liners, but since not everyone wants bibs they’ll also have liner shorts moving forward. Built with the same materials as the bibs, the shorts feature wide, comfy grippers, a wide supportive waist band, and a Cytech MTB Performance 2 chamois. Offered in men’s or women’s, these will go for $115.
Keeping with the light weight summer theme, the new Lightweight Over Short is just that.
Made from a very light 4-way stretch micro rip-stop cordura fabric, the short also features a light weight waist with a two button elastic closure. There’s also laser cut belt loops if you need additional help keeping them up, and a standard front pocket with zippered rear. Look for these in April for $140.
