It’s easy to overlook that you could still buy what was certainly the first aero gravel bike ever – yet 3T’s original Exploro continues to live on as the Primo². Not only has that game-changing gravel bike existed for almost a decade, 3T continued to improve it with functional tweaks here and there to keep it up to date.
2025 3T Primo² WPNT updates aero legacy of original Exploro
Now, the latest 3T Primo² has evolved into a properly modern mixed-surface bike – retaining the original Exploro squaero-dynamics, its popular road-inspired geometry (now with slightly more upright fit), and clearance for big tires whether you go 700c up to 45mm or 650b up to 2.0″.

The newest iteration now features a future-proof UDH, clean integrated cable routing through the headset that still works with affordable mechanical groupsets, new painted-in-Italy finishes, and frameset prices that manage to be lower than when that first Exploro launched back in 2016.
What’s new?

The UDH standard is now a minimum standard for new gravel bikes – not just to fit the latest SRAM wide range drivetrains. But it’s surprisingly welcome news to see a bike maker update the oldest bike in their line-up with one.

Fully integrated internal cable routing has also become standard – whether you or your mechanic want it or not. But, it was a pretty big deal when the basic RaceMax got its Integrale update last year, as it fixed one of the bike’s only real friction points in my mind. Now the even more affordable Primo 2.0 gets it too. But this time, the new 3T Primo² is semi-integrated with a separate bar & stem, and with full compatibility for mechanical shift drivetrains, both 1x or 2x.

Next up, new Italian paint jobs. The WPNT in the bike’s name is 3T’s We Paint program, where they brought painting of their Asian-made frames back to Italy for better management, better finishes, and the ability to create more limited edition colors.
2025 3T Primo² WPNT – Pricing, options & availability

Beyond a couple key modernizing updates, the best news is that the Primo² WPNT is 3T’s most affordable gravel bike. A hi-mod carbon frameset in one of 4 sizes (S-XL), 4 color choices (Fumo gray, Gesso off-white, Salvia green & Orchidea purple) sells for 2379€. That includes the frame, fork, integrated routing Token headset, alloy stem, carbon seatpost, and a bottle cage. And it’s still more than six hundred euros less than when the similar carbon spec Exploro debuted almost a decade ago.

Plus, there’s a 3273€ GRX 1×12 mechanical complete, 4066€ Rival AXS Xplr 1×13, or a 4760€ build with carbon wheels available too.

Pick your favorite up straight from the source, and then ride an aero gravel bike icon, now updated to the latest standards.
