Move over oil slick, Cube’s Limited Edition Litening C:68X is more like rainbow slick. Technically, Cube still refers to it as an oil slick finish, but by gradually stretching out the color gradient from the front to the back of the bike, it certainly takes on a more rainbow like appearance.
Draped over their newest Litening C:68X SLT frameset, the finish gives an already slippery frame an even more sleek look.
Even the entirety of the new one piece aero bar/stem combo is cloaked in a multitude of colors. This is a bar that will entice you to use as little bar tape as possible.
Confined mostly to the top third of the frame, underneath you’ll find an understated mix of white and black. Other than the striking finish, this appears to be the same frameset used for the rest of the SLT lineup with C:68X carbon technology that claims to reduce weight and increase stiffness with nanoparticle-infused resin and their Twin Mold Construction. That results in a frame weight of 1070g (56cm) and 495g for the fork.
Listed only as a frameset, and as a Limited Edition, currently pricing and availability isn’t given, though there is an option to add the frame to a watchlist, implying it may be available in the future.
