Recently, when ODI set out to make a new grip specifically for fixed gears they knew the grip had to be colorful, functional and so comfy that no gloves were needed.

Fortunately for them, they already produce the most popular BMX grip in history, the ODI Longneck. The vertical ribs that run the entire length of the grip ensure that the grip was always known as one of the cushiest grips on the street. All ODI had to do was make the grip longer, so 3 inches were added to the current 6 making this 9 inch grip perfect for riser bars, track drops, or even BMX’rs that like longer grips.

Of course, to be popular in today’s Fixie market the colors need to be fresh and eye catching, you know so fixed gear riders can match their Deep V’s. ODI has not disappointed, and the new Longneck XL will be available in 9 great colors.

The new grips aren’t all for the fixed gear crowd though, as ODI recently released a new mountain bike lock-on grip in a partnership with the world renown Troy Lee Designs!

Each pair of Longneck XL’s will retail for a very reasonable $12.95, and is available in black, white, purple, bright red, aqua, orange, bright blue, and pink. The grips are open ended and will all include the new 2-color push in plugs.

Personally I think one of the coolest features is the packaging (pictured above) which is made from recycled grip material. ODI has even gone so far as to include a cog key chain that pops out from the packaging! The key chain will help to remind you that, as always ODI products are all made in the USA out of the best materials possible.

The partnership makes total sense as both companies are now icons of all things moto and  MTB, with ODI supplying the quality grip and TLD ensuring the grip is dripping with style. ODI has been the lock on company for as long as I can remember, and manufacture grips for many other companies.

The new ODI TLD incorporates a unique new angled grip design that should increase hand support by fitting more naturally in the hand. The grip also has grooved channels that should aid in keeping trail goo from making your grips slippery. The whole package ends up in a slim grip with maximum grip area that still retains a comfortable fit.

The ODI TLD are currently available and retail for $27.95 for the Lock  On Bonus Pack which includes grips, lock collars, and black snap caps for the bar ends.
