  •  San Francisco is having a local Custom Framebuilder Show on October 20th at the Sandbox Warehouse in the Potrero Hill District from noon – 6pm. Admission is free, music and beer will be on hand at this event organized by Bicycle Fabrications and Ride SFO.
  • Dahon has partnered with the Marine Corps Marathon to offer rental bikes for families and friends to get around the venue and follow along with their bipedal competitors. Proceeds from the rentals go to Diabetes Action, and shops that help out benefit from increased exposure and good will. The event is Sunday, October 28, and bikes will be available Friday through Sunday. Contact Ken (at) Dahonbikes.com to line one up. They’re planning on rolling out this program to more events next year after testing the concept.
  • The USA Pro Challenge has announced that attendance at this years’ race surpassed the 1 million mark.
  • Nashville, TN; Miami, FL; and Los Angeles, CA, have received BFC (Bicycle Friendly Communities) status along with 25 other cities this year. The League of American Bicyclists has highlighted these three to show that even major US cities can make bicycling safe and accessible for their citizens.
