  • Bill Stevenson has announced that he and his son Shawn will be returning to frame building full time. Their specialty is cycle sportive, but build all types such as the gorgeous randonneur bike pictured above.
  • The bi-annual Recumbent Cycle-Con Convention is this weekend, Nov 1-3, at the Pamona Fairplex in Pamona, CA. The event features the newest in recumbent bikes, trikes, gear and accessories.
  • The 2nd Annual MTB Ayiti will be this January 28th – Feb 3rd. Billed as an “all inclusive 6 day, 5 night cultural immersion experience,” your entry includes meals, lodging, transportation, cultural entertainment, 3 days of mountain bike racing and a little local trail building.
  • Registration is now open for 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo. The event will be the weekend of February 14-16th. Looks like registration is filling up fast – Men’s Solo is closed already!
  • Registration for the 6 Hours of Warrior Creek opens on Saturday, 11/2 at 9AM. Last year this race sold out in 36 minutes! The BMCC isn’t counting their chickens but word on the street says it will sell out again, quickly.  All proceeds go directly to continued trail development and maintenance to the trail systems at W Kerr Scott Dam & Reservoir in Wilkesboro, NC.
  • Registration for the 37th Annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour opens January 14th at noon EST for the May 4th, 2014, ride. This is a bucket list recreational bike ride through all five boroughs of NY on traffic-free streets (!) and registration fills up fast for the more than 30,000 spots!
  • Registration for the MITIE London Revolution on May 17-18 opens November 5th. The event is a two day, 185 mile loop of London.
  • Thinking about your next adventure? Western Spirit Cycling Adventure’s 2014 calendar is up.
  • Pure-Adventures is now offering their self-guided cycling tours for US destinations.
  • Endure: Ballet in the Mud, a book of photographs from the 2013 Cyclo-cross National Championships held in Wisconson, and published by the Wisconsin Bike Fed, is scheduled for release this month. Sample photo after the break.
  • Surf City Cyclocross and CDF Firefighters Local 2881 are sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit the Muscular Distrophy Association with a drawing to win an Ibus Hakkalugi Disc Frame (size choice of winner). Tickets are $10 each, winner will be chosen Dec. 1st.

So I just found out registration for the 6hrs of Warrior Creek opened at 8am not 9am. Looks like I missed the boat again!

The warrior creek site actually posted that registration opens Nov. 3rd so it looks like more than one person screwed up!

It’s interesting that the first post on the 6 Hours of Warrior Creek website clearly states that registration opens on Nov. 2nd. Registration did in fact open at 9am not 8am. It promptly closed at 9:10 AM.

You would have needed a fast boat to get in.
