Reflective shoes seem to be getting a lot more popular. We’ve seen a few here and there over the years, but lately shoes where the entire upper is reflective seem to be popping up left and right. Yesterday it was the 45NRTH Ragnarök, today? It’s an entire reflective collection from Scott Sports.
These designs are probably getting popular for a good reason – by simply choosing a different material for the upper, riders looking for the utmost in visibility have another way to stand out in low light conditions. Using a synthetic polyurethane upper with 3D nylon airmesh inserts, Scott was able to transform the upper into a reflective canvas that really shines when hit with any light source. Offered in three models, the line has complete gender parity with men’s and women’s versions available in both.
The reflective line starts with the Road Comp Boa shoe which uses a composite outsole to offer a Stiffness index of 6. A Boa L6 dial and velcro strap help snug things up.
Almost the same shoe but different sole, the MTB Comp Boa also gets the reflective treatment. Again fitted with a Boa L6 dial, velcro strap, and composite sole with a 6 on the Stiffness index.
Finally, the Sport Crus-R Boa checks in with increased reflectivity as well. This one closes with a Boa L5, and forgoes the velcro strap for a roomier fit and a lower price. Check with your local Scott dealer for complete pricing and availability.
