It took a bit longer than previously thought, but it’s finally here. For all you adventure riders out there the Jari by Fuji appears to be a strong contestant to consider when looking for your next rig. It’s more than capable with fender mounts front and back, rear rack lugs, three water bottle cage mounts, and more. It’s built comfortable and light, yet robust enough to weather rough back country roads…
We first covered the Jari when Fuji announced it at Sea Otter this past May. There’s four variations available including the 1.1 (below), 1.3, 1.5 (above), and 1.7. They’re also offering a 1.1 frameset. It gets a 12mm thru axle up front, and a convertible rear system allowing for rider’s choice of a 12×142 mm axle or 135mm QR. It has a tapered headset and fits a 27.2mm seatpost. The seat stays have a slight bend in them, promising to offer vertical compliance, plus some extra room for the rear flat-mount brake. Furthermore, internal cable routing keeps the frame clean and separates bags from cables.
It gets a relatively short top tube with a tall head tube that’ll sit the rider up. Weighing in at 19.5 lbs it offers adventurers a good build at a competitive price. The frame set weighs in at 4.4 lbs. Sizing: XXS – XXL (46 – 61cm) Prices: $1,200 (1.7) : $1,450 (1.5) : $1,970 (1.3) : $2,950 (1.1) : $520 (frameset). Stay tuned for more on the Jari…
Update: Assuming the frame wasn’t tweaked from earlier this year, the bike is compatible with 700×45 tires without fenders.
