The transition from long pointy aero helmets to more natural shapes has happened relatively quickly for mainstream helmet producers. Giro is taking it to another level with their Vanquish MIPS helmet by tying the most up-to-date aerodynamic, safety and fit technologies into a well rounded performance road helmet.
The Vanquish is loaded with Giro’s top of the line tech including a magnetic Zeiss Vivid shield, sunglasses grips, antimicrobial padding and lightweight straps. Their TransformAir technology plays a key role by manipulating the airflow throughout the helmet to reduce drag. And their Roc Loc harness system lifts the helmet slightly off the head to keep air channels open. It’s adjustable with one hand and it works with MIPs to potentially reduce rotational trauma. The $250 helmet gets in-mold construction to bind the outer shell of the helmet to the inner foam, reducing weight and improving airflow. There are six color options available, with sizes including S (51-55), M (55-59), and L (59-63).
