Recently, it seems that there have been a number of BMX sessions down memory lane. Whether that’s GT’s Limited Edition ’79 BMX Cruiser, or Bob Haro’s Custom Bell 500 SE helmet, there seem to be a number of riders willing to hand over some cash to relive their BMX glory days. Now, there’s not just one, but two Haro reissues as they introduce their First Generation Limited Edition Series.
In 1984, Haro launched two defining models in the evolution of BMX. The Haro Master was specifically designed to accommodate Bob Haro’s all around riding style, while the Mike Dominguez Haro Sport was the first dedicated vert bike and freestyle signature model.
To celebrate that history and give fans a chance to ride their dream bikes from back in the day (or to hang them on the wall), Haro is reissuing both frames. In the interest of keeping things legit, the frames will be produced in Santa Ana, California using locally sourced raw materials and era-correct manufacturing methods.
Sold as a frame and fork package, the Haro Master will include the frame, fork, and Bob Haro jersey all packed inside a special presentation frame box signed by Bob Haro himself. The package also includes custom frame, a brochure, and nylon dropout protectors. handlebar, and stem pads, Limited to 200 packages, you’ll have a choice of serial number, but only for serial numbers 076-200. There is an option to purchase Serial numbers 001-075 on the web site, but it does not give you the option to pick the individual number.
The Mike Dominguez Haro Sport will also be sold as a frame and fork package, but also includes a few extras.
Along with the custom signed presentation box, you’ll receive a Mike Dominguez Replica jersey, custom frame, handlebar, and stem pads, and a frame and fork brochure. Like the Master, the Sport will be limited but this time to just 100 packages. You’ll have your choice of serial numbers from 001-100, though many are already sold, including 001.
Both frame packages will sell for $999.99 plus shipping, but can be reserved by putting down a 50% deposit now. For more, check out the Haro BMX History page below.
