Hurricane Sandy as seen by bike in NYC

As Hurricane Sandy swept across the East Coast and caused billions in damage a few intrepid bikers spent a few hours exploring the flooded Big Apple. The footage is heart wrenching and our hearts and prayers go out to all of those affected.

From the get go I’d immediately regret the decision to ride my bike through all that salt water. Cool video!!

the risk those guys took to make this video was ENORMOUS. Always stay away from flooded areas, always stay sheltered under hurricane conditions. It may look fun, until someone gets hurt.

I’d be freaked out by being electrocuted or caught in some flooded drainhole. Good footage. RIP valiant bicycles, you were well used.

Fantastic footage. And while I usually shy away from criticizing random people on the Internet, this is monumentally stupid. They were lucky they weren’t killed. This video should at a minimum be shared with a disclaimer.
