Perhaps not as well known in the U.S. as some other cleaner and lubricant brands, Morgan Blue is extremely well known around the world – especially in the pro peloton. Said to have been on 60% of the chains and 20% of the legs of the World Tour riders, Morgan Blue has an extensive line of bike oils, protectants, and cleaners as well as a full line of massage products.

Originally selling lubricants for the automotive and farm industries in Belgium, Morgan Oils as it was then called was asked to produce bicycle lubricants by former Lotto team mechanic Nick Vandecauter. As so many stories go, the products were a hit and the company began sponsoring pro tour teams without selling anything to consumers. It wasn’t until the company was working on developing a chain cleaner that Morgan “Blue” got their name after their degreaser turned blue as they were developing it.

Twenty years later and Morgan Blue had a catalog of 53 maintenance products and 15 skin care products in 2014. And that selection is still growing. Check out some of the more interesting new products next…

Like other polishes on the market, Morgan Blue’s Carbon Polish is designed to remove stains from carbon frames while leaving a protective finish that will repel dirt. Safe for the finish on carbon frames, the polish is great for most carbon frames. What happens when you have a carbon frame with a matte finish that you don’t want to end up shiny? You bust out the new Carbon Cleaner Matt. Created to work as a cleaner for all matte frames and components, the cleaner is also rubber and plastic safe.

On the chain lube side, the Extra Dry Lube has a new formula that should perform better than ever. Now perfectly clear, the lube is meant for mountain biking or cyclocross applications to keep the chain clean by aggressively repelling water and dirt.

No, the new Cleaning Glove isn’t for washing the team car (though you probably could). This one is self explanatory. It’s a glove with microfiber cleaning fingers that are perfect for fast cleaning of your bike whether in the pit or your garage. Just another way Morgan Blue is keeping the bikes of the world running smooth.

Pledge and Simple Green have worked wonders for keeping all my bikes clean. Plus these two items are easy to find and cheap compared to other options.

@Zach Overholt do you know of any retailers in the US carrying Morgan Blue? It doesn’t look like belgiumbike.com sells anything retail.

Hi guys,

We are working on a online shop for next year.
We have around 60 shops in most of the States and it grows fast.
We sell to end consumers if we can’t help them finding a local bicycle shop to work with.
Online we have the cycle Depot that has a very complete line of morgan blue and a great service.
We have no Min. order so try what so many pro teams prefer the last ten years.
Morgan blue does not harm any paint or bicycle parts ane the skincare products are a 100% natural so no irritations or burning feelings but the support you need and expect from a professional product.
feel free to email us with any questions

@Henry: Careful with that Simple Green! I’ve seen more than a few frame/fork/parts finishes damaged by it.

Why do roadies get all the cool stuff? (Mountain bikers don’t need this sh1t.)

As a downhiller with cleaning OCD, I’m PSYCHED on these products — mountain bikers do need cleaning products (despite what Canon Dale claims) as a clean bike is a fast bike. Also: happy bike parts last longer and run better. 🙂

Always psyched on new cleaner options.

I mix Simple Green 1 part Simple Green 2 parts water. I have used this mixture for over 10 years and haven’t had one issue with damaged finishes using this ratio. Cheap, works great and very easy to pickup at a lot of local stores.
