Hate flats? So does Tannus. That’s why they’ve been selling airless tires to fit a wide variety of bikes. The South Korean company claims that their Aither 1.1 tire is the answer to riding flat-free, while still offering a high level of durability in a lightweight, eco-friendly package. To address the issue of wet weather performance mentioned in our last post, Tannus says they’ve had multiple third party tests conducted, and the only wet surface the Aither struggles with is wet tile.
Otherwise, they claim it is at least equal to the average pneumatic tire and is good for up to 5,000 miles or riding.
New to the line up this year is a 700c x 25mm road tire, that will be available in 12 different colors. The 25mm joins the 23mm & 28mm versions already in the line up.
Tannus also has a new tire that they say is for eBikes, though the tire itself is no different in construction than any of their other models.
The eBike connection is that eBike manufacturers were asking Tannus to create a 26 x 2.0″ tire size, so the company obliged.
The result is a 2.0″ wide tire that will be at home on any hybrid or MTB with a 26″ wheel which will spend most of its life on pavement or gravel.
