Thanks to the increased stiffness and durability of Industry Nine’s System wheels with burly aluminum spokes, a lot of riders don’t need the full complement of 32 spokes. That’s precisely why I prefer their lower spoke count, 24h system wheels. Which until now, have not been available with Super Boost hubs.
Since the wider 12 x 157mm rear ends seem to be gaining in popularity with more brands jumping on board, Industry Nine is adding more options to their catalog. This is definitely not the first Super Boost compatible wheelset that they’ve offered, but it is the first time that you’ll be able to get them in 24h builds.
Why would you want 24h over 32h? If you’re a lighter rider or someone who is easy on equipment, and you’re looking for a light weight built with a more compliant ride, the 2:1 24h wheels are the perfect match. If you’re going big, or have a tendency to destroy components, then you should probably stick with the 32h option.
Since these are for their aluminum spoke System wheels, they will only be available as complete wheelsets. Options will include the UL250, TR270, UL280c, TR280c, EN315c and EN355c wheels.
As usual, you’ll have the ability to custom build your wheels through Industry Nine’s Ano Lab, picking the color of individual spokes, hubs, valves, and decals. Super Boost 24h hubs are available now to fit bikes with both 12 x 150 and 12 x 157mm rear ends.
