This Industry Nine hub goes to 11. No, really. It does. What started out as a fun April Fool’s gag, has turned into a real life, actual product. Sure, you might not be able to actually control the sound of your hub with the twist of a dial, but you can have some fun with your bike and help musicians turn it up IRL.
Rather than just making 10 louder, the I9 Frequency Adjust Ratchet Technology volume adjust endcaps allow you to turn it up to 11 (in spirit). The endcap is compatible with Hydra 6 bolt mountain rear hubshells in the following axle configurations: 12×142, 12×148, 12×157, 12×177, 12×197, plus Spring 2017 – 2019 Torch 12×148 Boost 6 Bolt hubs.
While the FART hub tech is just make believe, the support for I9’s local Asheville based musicians is very real. Each end cap will sell for $30, and I9 is donating $25 of every sale to help Asheville musicians who have lost income due to the coronavirus outbreak through the Independent Arts & Music Asheville (IamAVL) musician relief fund. This is in addition to I9’s continued efforts to create PPE face shields for the medical community and their hope to help create ventilator parts if needed. It’s pretty awesome to see I9 continue to support the cause any way they can.
I9 is opening a pre-order window starting today, and it will run until Friday, April 24th at 12 am EST. I9 is only making as many of these as are pre-ordered so if you want to turn it up to 11 while doing some good, get on it!
