Gravel riding is getting hugely popular across the world, but this isn’t the announcement of another race. Instead, Industry Nine is hosting a casual gravel focused event at the Oskar Blues REEB Ranch – appropriately named Loose Gravel.
Some of the details are still being worked out, but the main idea is to hang out at the Ranch, ride a bunch of gravel with your friends, and have a great time drinking beer, listening to live music, and camping in between. The $60 weekend pass will get you entry to the event including a place to camp, and I9 will be hosting group rides that will range from a 2hr beginner focused ride up to a 95 mile epic with almost 9,000 feet of climbing that will take you through Pisgah, Dupont, and the Nantahala National Forest.
While the even is gravel focused, both drop bars and flat bars are welcome, with the ideal tire recommendation around 40-55mm. The event will be held from Friday, September 13t to Sunday the 15th, and all proceeds will benefit the Pisgah Conservancy. The first 50 riders to register will also score a sweet custom Loose Gravel x Rockgeist top tube bag with your entry. Space is limited, and it’s sure to be a great time!
