In spite of the challenges presented by the pandemic, the 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championship is happening this weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas. To celebrate the occasion, trials rider Kenny Belaey got his hands on a locally-made Allied gravel bike and did the gravel bike equivalent of a ninja drop onto the UCI CX course.

Kenny then proceeds to show what is really possible on a gravel bike outside of the CX course—including bigger jumps and drops than most people would be comfortable with on an MTB. We doubt that many racers will be attempting to ride up the massive staircase on course, but Kenny proves that it is technically possible…

For another look at that 39 stair runup, check out this course preview from Curtis White. Since this video was taken before the UCI CX World Cup Round 2 in October, it will be interesting to see if the course is exactly the same for Worlds, or if there are any changes thrown in to make it more technically challenging for the world’s best riders.

Stay tuned for more coverage from Arkansas.

seriously, how useless is that kind of thing. Is this why an Allied Bike is a 1K more than the next. I love Allied ethos and now they just junked it like a big mac wrapper by a highway…
