Earlier this year, Polartec announced that they would continue their collaborative partnership with Kitsbow to bring new technology and cycling clothing to market. Now, in a month’s span they’ve launched two new collaborations – a new Polartec Alpha insulated collection, and the all new Polartec Power Wool Compression line.

In typical Kitsbow fashion, the new pieces not only look great, but they include the latest technology to keep you warm and dry. The new Polartec Power Wool is a bi-component knit fabric that combines natural wool and synthetic fibers in the same garment without actually blending them. The wool is kept next to skin for moisture management and the synthetic is left on the outside to wick moisture while providing a durable, stretchy outer layer.

The new Kitsbow Power Wool line is made in the Petaluma, CA, which brings the number of U.S. made Kitsbow pieces to about 50% of their line. There are four new pieces in the line including knickers, tights, and arm and leg warmers which are in addition to their Performance Arm and Leg warmers. The knickers or tights sell for $199, while the arm and leg warmers are $75 each.

In other Kitsbow/Polartec news, the updated Alpha series combines high tech Alpha insulation with a vest or snap jacket. Originating from the military as a breathable insulation technology, Alpha insulation is said to be excellent for physical activity and claims to prevent the user from having to shed or add layers.

In this case, Kitsbow has brought the technology to their upscale look with a new $250 vest and an updated $350 jacket. Each features Alpha 80 hydrophobic insulation on the front of the jacket and lighter Alpha 60 on the back and sleeves along with a C6 DWR treatment for water repellency. Updates to the jacket include a new snug fit ribbed cuff for improved insulation of the arms and improved fit.

And just for fun, here’s one of the latest from Kitsbow ambassador, Jeff Kendall-Weed checking out the riding scene in Arkansas!
