Based in Vancouver, B.C., Knolly Bikes is a brand I always expect to see showing off their latest and greatest at Crankworx Whistler. The Knolly crew was back for 2025, with a new version of their titanium Cache gravel bike on display.

Aside from the updated Cache frame, Knolly decided to show off a few ‘dream builds’ of their Chilcotin and Warden MTBs. With some help from Industry Nine, they built up some enduro bikes featuring high-end componentry.

Updated Knolly Cache 2.0:

Knolly Bikes Cache, cache by booth

The big news this year is the new, revised Cache gravel bike. Also available in steel, Knolly had a titanium Cache 2.0 built up at their booth to show the frame’s updates. Before getting into the details, Knolly’s founder and engineer, Noel Buckley, emphasized that a big priority was the old adage “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. People love their existing Caches, so Knolly was careful to keep the bike very much as it was, while adding a few new finishing touches.

Perhaps the most significant update is that Knolly has altered the Cache 2.0’s geometry to correct for suspension forks. The display bike featured a 40mm travel Fox 32 Factory TC fork, but Knolly has a rigid carbon fork in development for this bike. The new fork will maintain the Cache frame’s geometry for those who don’t run front suspension.

Knolly Bikes Cache, tire clearance

Another big update was adding even more tire and fender clearance. The frame can now accept up to 55mm wide tires (a 45mm tire is shown in the above photo), and the incoming carbon fork will fit up to 60mm treads. Knolly also revised the bridges at the seat and chainstays to offer more room for fenders.

Knolly Bikes Cache, cassette and derailleur

The Cache now includes SRAM UDH-compatible dropouts. Emphasizing its versatility, this bike was set up with a wide range 9-45t cassette that offers plenty of gearing but still works with Shimano’s GS medium cage derailleurs. Like the existing Cache, the new frame is still compatible with 1x or 2x drivetrains.

Knolly Bikes Cache, top tube mount

The Cache 2.0 frame also gets a new top tube accessory mount to host cargo bags, etc.

Knolly Bikes Cache, head tube

The final new touch for the incoming Cache is this detailed head tube engraving. The titanium Cache 2.0 frame and complete bikes will be available in October, with steel models coming later.

MTB Dream Builds – Chilcotin:

The first of two ‘dream builds’ Knolly was showing is this Chilcotin. This black beauty is set up with 170mm travel front and rear, featuring a Fox 38 Factory fork and an X2 Float Factory rear shock.

A few notable components: This Chilcotin is rolling on 29” Industry Nine wheels, featuring their carbon DUO EN rims. It also runs a Shimano XT Di2 drivetrain and XT brakes.

Warden:

This sparkly green Warden is a big bike for little riders! This is an XS frame, set up with 170mm of suspension travel front and rear. Showcasing a SRAM build, it features a RockShox Zeb Ultimate fork and a Vivid Ultimate rear shock.

This bike’s MX Wheelset is courtesy of Industry Nine and includes their EN300 alloy rims. SRAM’s new Eagle 90 mechanical transmission takes care of the gears, while their Maven Silver brakes ensure ample stopping power for gnarly rides.

Digging the Cache 2.0. Not sure I’ve seen any other gravel/ATB frames that will accept a 55 mm tire AND two chainrings.
